About Us
The Sudan Radio Project is a monthly radio broadcast that explores historical, political, economic, and social issues in Sudan. We are based in the Philadelphia area, but have contacts around the globe. We were founded as the Darfur Radio Project in the fall of 2006, with a focus on the situation in Darfur. Since then, we have broadened our scope to include the spillover effects of the conflict in other regions, as well as analysis of the relationship between North and South Sudan, Sudanese cultural issues and more. Our shows are journalism, not activism; we seek to provide balanced coverage of events in Sudan by examining their various facets and speaking with a wide range of people, including analysts, activists, and Sudanese. While we do not promote any specific agenda, we believe that education, accurate information, and analysis will play an important role in the search for sustainable, long-term peace in Sudan.
